Vortech Superchargers sponsored Formula Drift Drivers take command of the podium as the Formula DRIFT PRO Championship kicks off with a sold out Round 1 event @ Road Atlanta in Georgia.

Heading into the 2021 season of Formula DRIFT PRO Championship, the drivers were eager to get back to what they do best at the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA. When the smoke finally cleared at the end of Round 1, Team Falken and Vortech Superchargers drivers took command of the podium with Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis finishing in First place and Matt Field taking Second place, both utilizing the potent Vortech V-7 YSi-B Supercharger to outperform the competition and take the winning positions in commanding fashion.

Vortech Superchargers congratulates both Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis and Matt Field for their exceptional first and second place finishes at Round 1 of Formula Drift 2021 Season, with Vaughn Gittin Jr. rounding out the podium in the third position.

As the Road Atlanta Round 1 event began, Matt Field in his Falken Tire/ Drift Cave Chevrolet Corvette qualified #1, while yet another Vortech Supercharger Driver, Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis qualified in 3rd with his revamped Falken Tire/ Feal Suspension Nissan S15.

During the tight competition, Bakchis and his Vortech Supercharged S15 matched up against rookie Jonathan Hurst. On the first run Hurst was yellow flagged due to engine issues, then on the second run Hurst again lost power- a problem that plagued him all weekend and “Odi” moved onto the next rounds to eliminate Travis Reeder, Adam LZ, Vaughn Gittin Jr. and eventually lining up against Falken Tire teammate Matt Field.

In the final battle of Round 1 Formula DRIFT PRO Championship, two Vortech Superchargers equipped cars would compete for the top spot. With precision and grace, Matt Field and “Odi” Bakchis maintained a near perfect proximity to each other throughout the 4 final runs, but in the end “Odi” Bakchis was awarded the win and is now the points leader as they move onto Round 2 in Orlando, FL May 21-22, 2021.

Will Vortech Supercharged driver's continue to dominate this season of Formula Drift? Tune in to Round 2 coverage May 21-22 to find out!
