For some, summer means barbeques, the beach, or hanging out at the lake. For others, summer means burning tire smoke and the smell of race fuel. For fans of boost, big horsepower, and heart-pounding drag racing action, summer is the best time to head on out the track and either watch some insane racing, or to race their own car down the track. Here are just a few of the notable Vortech Supercharged racers that are out there making the most of the summer, and setting records and winning races as they go.

Triangle Speed

Daniel Pachar and Triangle Speed's "Hired Help" Fox Body Mustang have proven themselves to be pretty much unstoppable this year, with them walking away from the entire field at virtually every outing. The Black Fox is catapulted down the track with the help of its Vortech V-30 123A Supercharged package, Performance Racing Transmissions, Neal Chance Racing Converters, and expertly tuned by Triangle Speed Shop.

This past weekend at Outlaw Armageddon 5 in Oklahoma was potentially the most difficult test yet for the team, with the Vortech Supercharged Mustang facing a packed field of over 60 of the fastest cars and biggest names in Small Tire No Prep Racing. However, Hired Help's stunning winning streak would not be broken here, as after the entire weekend of was done, Pachar and Hired Help earned their way into the Winner's Circle once again. Congratulations to Daniel Pachar and crew on a job well done!

Jon Reed

John Reed and Reed Motorsports does it again! Reed has already set multiple records and firsts with his 2009 Vortech Supercharged Challenger, but now John has added yet another first to his list of accomplishments. This past weekend at Cecil County Dragway, John became the first IRS suspension Gen 3 HEMI to make it into the 4's in the 1/8th mile, turning in a blistering 4.984 E.T @ 142.91 mph! What is next for Reed & his V-7 YSi-B Supercharged beast? We can't wait to find out ourselves!

Bob Curran Memorial

A year ago the Vortech family and the racing community as a whole lost a friend and former NMCA Champion with the passing of Bob Curran. This year, the Curran family wanted to memorialize Bob at his home track during one of his favorite events of the year, the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing, held at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois.

Bob and his iconic Vortech Supercharged C4 Corvette was a most beloved part of the racing community, and moving forward the NMRA vs. NMCA match race at the end of the biggest street-legal event of the year will be known as the Bob Curran Memorial Super Bowl Shootouts. In celebration of his life, the Curran family is offering a $500 bonus prize to each match race winner. In addition, the winning team members each earned a prestigious Nitto Tire Diamond Tree Ring.

Sondra Leslie

In Limited Street, Sondra Leslie and her V-2 Ti-Trim Supercharged 1985 Mustang turned in a 8.844 E.T. @ 154.55 MPH qualifying run. This was good enough for the #3 qualifying position, with only 5 tenths of a second separating her from the #1 qualifying run.

In eliminations, Sondra climbed through ranks, first defeating Michael Lewandowski and his 1979 Mustang in Round #1, and then Bill Putnam in his 1994 Mustang in Round #2, earning Leslie a ticket to the final battle against Samantha Moore and her 2014 Mustang. The all-female final was an exciting one, with Leslie leaving ahead at the line, but Moore was able to chase her down and crossed the stripe first with a 8.878 E.T. @ 152.83 mph to Leslie's 8.954 E.T. @ 152.49 mph. A valiant effort from Sondra that earned her the Runner Up spot in the class.

Keep your eyes out for more Vortech Supercharged events and racing action as we roll on through the summer!
